Problem of Poetry Translation: Translator as the Coauthor
The article is dedicated to the actual problem of the poetry translation. This problem is observed in the following aspect: if the translator is a coauthor of the poetic text, if the translation is a copy of the original or a new literary work written by the translator on the motives of the original text. The research is based on the translation into Russian if the poem Sensation written in 1870 by the French poet Arthur Rimbaud (1854–1891). In the article the translations made by such translators as Innokenty Annensky (1904), Benedict Livshits (1934), Wilgelm Levik (1967), Mikhail Kudinov (1982), Vladimir Mikushevich (1988), Evgeniy Sheshin (2015) are given, but the translation of one of the authors of this article, Olga Suralyova (2017), is given.
The aim of the article is to show the cooperation of the author and translator on the example of the poem Sensation, taking in mind the differences in the national systems of versification (syllabic in French and accentual-syllabic in Russian) and the existing of the individual as well as national poetic way of hinking and realicen thinking and realicen.
