Transformation of Methodological Approaches to the Study of Economics in Modern Philosophical and Economic Literature
Purpose: The article deals with the analysis of various methodological approaches to the study of Economics in the economic and philosophical literature.
Methods: The study provides a comparative analysis of the methodology of Marxism, liberalism, institutionalism, postmodernism and philosophy of economy.
The author substantiates the conclusion that the complexity of economic processes in the modern world reveals the limitations of the methodology of economic centrism and economic determinism and makes it necessary to apply new paradigmatic approaches to the study of economy.
Results: The results of the study show that the formation of a new economic research paradigm can adequately reflect the full range of interaction of the economy with other spheres of society and at the same time contribute to more humane relations, as it focuses on the study of the correspondence of the economic processes to the interests and needs of a man, as the ultimate goal of the economy is the reproduction of people's lives, their well-being, while the production of goods and services is only an intermediate goal.
Discussion: The paper analyzes the transformation of the methodology of economic research in the 21st century, the essence of which lies in the transition from economic centrism and economic determinism to holistic and anthropological approaches. The paradigm of the holistic approach denies economic centrism and considers the economy as an element of the social system, interacting
with its other elements, as well as it denies the economic determinism, postulating that there is no single determinant of the society development. The core of the anthropological approach is in understanding that the economy subject is a person as a carrier of certain value orientations, motivating his economic behavior.
