Nucleus of Orthodox culture in the North Caucasus

The author reveals the influence of monasteries on Cossacks' culture in the North Caucasus. The positive role of the monkhood in making of the nucleus of Orthodox culture is comprehends. On the examples from archives the author shows an attitude of the official church to the spreading of some sects in the North Caucasus.
