A historic experience of nature use in arid zone (on an example of Kalmykia)
A historic experience of nature use in peoples of arid zone has been considered. It was shown that the existence of nomad and semi-nomad livestock breeding was ecologically justified, because it was based on the breeding of aboriginal strains of livestock, adapted to the extreme conditions of dry steppes. The neglection of traditional forms of animal husbandry on arid territories resulted in the fact that fragile balance of man and nature interconnection has been broken. The correction of this situation will become possible with the reasonable combination of pasture animal husbandry traditions and modern livestock breeding technologies and agricultural raw materials working up.
